Hello. Long ago, there were a lot of clams caught at the mouth of the Nakdong River in Busan, and clam restaurants flourished nearby. Nowadays, clam production has almost completely stopped nearby, so there are fewer clam soup restaurants, but there is one restaurant called "Halmejaejokguk" that has continued to sell clam soup for a long time.

In the place where there is a sign that reads "Nakdonggang Samrak Jaejokguk Street," there are two stores with signs that read "Halmae Jaejokguk." Both stores are in the same house and are owned by the son and grandson of Grandma Yoo Mal-im (2), who started the Jaejokguk business in 1972.
By the way, the name "Samrak Jejokguk Street" originated from the name given by the Sasang-gu Office of Busan to the area around Samrak Bridge in 2000.

Clam soup set meal
"Halmejaejokguk" was crowded with customers even though it was after 2pm, probably because it was so popular. There were only two dishes on the menu: clam soup and clam sashimi. When I ordered clam soup, miso soup in a stainless steel bowl and side dishes such as kimchi, chive salad, and simmered mackerel were served on the table, along with white rice.
Jaejokguk lived up to its reputation and expectations, and had a light and delicious taste. Some restaurants make their soup salty or seasoned to make it rich, but the clam soup here has a light and delicious taste that fills your mouth. The radish and mackerel stew that comes with the clam soup is also very delicious.

This restaurant is a little far from Busan city, but if you are ever in Gimhae International Airport or Sasang, Busan, be sure to stop by.
