Located about a 10-minute drive from Nampo-dong, one of Busan's downtown areas, Songdo Beach is located very close to downtown Busan and has long been a popular beach for local Busan residents. Opened in 1913, it is Korea's first bathing beach and boasts a longer history than any other beach in Korea. It was once known for its pine forests, hence the name "Songdo."

Songdo Beach, surrounded by the pine forests of Mt. Geumbongsan like a folding screen, is 800 meters long, 50 meters wide, and has an average water depth of 1 to 1,5 meters, making it a popular summer getaway for families.
