Seonamsa Temple on Mount Baekyang

Located on Baekyangsan Mountain in Buam-dong, Busanjin-gu, Busan Metropolitan City, this temple is a branch temple of Beomeosa Temple, the 14th head temple of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism. It was founded in 675 (the 15th year of King Munmu of Silla) by Wonhyo Daesa (617~686) and was called Gwanggangsa Temple, but it is said that a Hwarang (a type of warrior) practiced his martial arts on a rock on the mountain behind the temple, and the temple's name was changed to Seonamsa Temple.

Within the temple grounds are the Daeungjeon Hall, Gokurakjeon Hall, Gwaneumjeon Hall, Myoungbujeon Hall, Sanshinpagak, Chilseongpagak, Soshijeon Hall, as well as the bell tower, the Buddhist office, and the dormitory buildings. Relics include a wooden seated statue of Amitabha Buddha, as well as relics stored inside the temple, a three-story stone pagoda (part of it), a golden drum, and a hanging Buddha banner.

It was officially designated as a Temple Stay Temple in 2016, and in 2017, it completed its Temple Stay Management Center, and is diligently running Temple Stay programs for the purpose of properly informing Korean culture to both Korean and foreign visitors and for healing and comfort.
