Dongnae Market

Dongnae Market, one of Busan's representative traditional markets, is located in Dongnaeupseong Fortress during the Joseon Dynasty and has a long history. Its origins can be traced back to the Eupnae Market during the Joseon Dynasty. Dongnaebu Eupnae Market, located right in front of Dongnaebu Dongheon, is a market where the main goods traded at the time were rice, beans, cotton cloth, linen cloth, silk, blue fish, cod, sea cucumber, tableware, paper, etc., which can still be seen here and there in Dongnae Market today.

The current Dongnae Market is a building that was completed in 1970, but there are many cultural assets scattered around the market, including Dongnaehyanggyo School, Dongnaebu Dongheon, Busan Bokcheon-dong Tomb Group, Dongnae Shell Mounds, and Dokjin Daeyamun Gate.
