A famous mountain that combines beautiful natural scenery and cultural heritage
Geumjeongsan is the most scenic and magnificent mountain in Busan. Although it is not a very high mountain at 801m above sea level, the mountain range is so beautiful that it is called the Kumgangsan of the South. It is home to cultural heritage sites such as Geumjeongsanseong Fortress and Beomeosa Temple, as well as Sanseong Village, famous for black goat dishes and Geumjeongsan makgeolli. It is also close to recreational facilities such as Dongrae Hot Springs and Geumgang Park, so it is a place where hikers are constantly busy all year round.

Geumjeongsanseong Fortress is the largest castle in Korea and is designated as Historic Site No. 215. It consists of four gates, east, west, north and south, and a castle wall that stretches over 4 meters. The wall is 1 to 7000 meters high, and observation decks and walking paths are well maintained throughout the entire area. There are no exact records of this castle, but considering the location and size of the mountain castle, it is speculated that it was built during the Three Kingdoms period. In addition, the Geumjeongsanseong Fortress History and Culture Festival is held every May.
If you climb up from Beomeosa Temple, you will find the north gate of Geumjeongsan Castle.

About 1 kilometer north from the north gate is the peak of Mt. Kanai, 801 meters above sea level.
