Gijang-gun, located about an hour's drive from central Busan, was incorporated into Busan from Yangsan City, South Gyeongsang Province, and became Gijang-gun, Busan City in 1995. The main tourist attraction in Gijang-gun is Yonggungsa Temple, which was built on a rock in the sea.
