Seoul Gakdugi in Nampo-dong

A restaurant serving delicious light-flavored Seolleongtang

About a five-minute walk from Busan Tower in Yongdusan Park, which is a must-see for tourists in Busan, the shopping paradise of Gukje Market, and the bustling fish market of Jagalchi, there is a restaurant that serves delicious Seolleongtang (a soup made from boiled beef head, feet, elbows, bones, and innards), which is highly rated among locals and tourists visiting Busan alike.

Boasting a 50-year tradition, Seoul Kakdugi specializes in beef soup and, as the name suggests, was founded by Seoulites who fled to Busan during the Korean War in 1950. There are many restaurants with the same name in Busan and across Korea, but it seems that it all began with Seoul Kakdugi in Nampo-dong.

The white soup, beef, somen noodles, shredded spring onions, and rice in the Seolleongtang has no unpleasant odor and the meat is tender, so it's a popular restaurant with children. The spicy red kkakdugi, an essential garnish for Seolleongtang, will increase your appetite, but if you find the soup too bland, you can add seasoning with the salt and pepper provided on the table.

Also, if you are suffering from a hangover or have an upset stomach from eating spicy Korean food, we recommend Seolleongtang, which has a refreshing taste and is gentle on the stomach.
