A popular Soondubu specialty restaurant in Gukje Market
It is famous as a shopping paradise representing the port city of Busan.International MarketThere are many alleys with an atmosphere similar to Ameyoko in Japan, such as Arirang Street, where lively shop staff are heard speaking Japanese, and Food Stall Street, where a wide variety of food stalls are lined up, including Korean gourmet food stalls, accessories, and clothing stalls. It is a fun place just to walk around the market, but it is also a place where you can continue to discover new gourmet foods.

In this market, there is a restaurant called Dolgorae (Dolphin) that serves delicious Sundubu Jjigae (Soiled Tofu Hotpot), which has been in business for 28 years this year. Located on the second floor at the end of a narrow alley that is typical of Gukje Market, the restaurant has four menu items, but the most popular dish is Sundubu Jjigae.

Freshly steamed warm white rice, freshly pickled sweet and spicy uncut Chinese cabbage kimchi, spicy stir-fried oden, miyeok naengguk, a cold soup made with seaweed and other vegetables, and a mini Soondubu jjigae that is a little small compared to the rice bowl are all lined up on the table, and you can't help but drool.
Dolgore Sundubu Jjigae is delicious when you mix it with white rice or put the whole cabbage kimchi on top of the rice and eat it together. If it is too spicy and your mouth feels tingly, try Miyeok Naengguk.

In addition to Soondubu Jjigae, they also serve Doenjang Jjigae (miso soup) and octopus fried rice, both of which are common dishes, and even today this popular restaurant is always full of customers. If you are out shopping or sightseeing at Gukje Market, be sure to try some cabbage kimchi or Soondubu on top of some piping hot rice.
