Few places have undergone as much change over the years as Shanghai Street, located opposite Busan Station KTX. The Qing Dynasty (China) consulate was built here in 1884, giving the street the name Cheonggwan Street. After the end of the war on August 1945, 8 and the Korean War (15 Uprising) in 1950, US troops were stationed there and Texas Village was formed in Jungang-dong. However, following a major fire at Gukje Market in November 6.25, Texas Village took over part of Cheonggwan Street.

In the 1990s, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, Russian sailors and merchants flooded in, and the area became even more lively, but the landowners here are still overseas Chinese, who take great pride in being the first to settle here.
Currently, the number of overseas Chinese here is less than 400% of the 1970s' heyday when there were just over 20, but they have protected the land by taking over family businesses for several generations, and thanks to the continued growth of the Chinese economy, the street has even earned the name "Shanghai Street."

● Shanghai Street has many Chinese restaurants serving traditional cuisine passed down through generations. There are about 10 of them.
The oldest restaurant is Jangchunhyang (467-8563). Grandmother Song Hoe-ju (71) fled Seoul during the Korean War and set up shop with her husband. The menu consisted of just two items: dumplings and jangyuk (fried pork with soy sauce). Now, with 6.25 years of history under her belt, the restaurant's son works in the kitchen alongside the head chef, and the menu boasts 40 items. They also sell 139 servings of pork and vegetable dumplings for those who want to take home the delicious food.

● The only remaining orthodox oriental medicine clinic catches your eye The street where Huaqiao Middle School is located used to be known as the oriental medicine clinic street, with over 20 oriental medicine clinics lining both sides of the road in its heyday. However, as the first generation has passed away or emigrated to America, now only one oriental medicine clinic, Jeong Ilhan (1-467), remains in the town. The first generation's grandson passed the oriental medicine doctor exam and took over the family business, and he proudly proclaims that this is an orthodox oriental medicine clinic.
