Hello, Hwangnyeongsan Mountain, 427 meters above sea level, offers a panoramic view of Busan to the north, south, east and west. At night, it is known as a popular night view spot, crowded with locals who come to see the beautiful night view of Busan.
Hwangnyeongsan Beacon Station, located at the top of Mt. Hwangnyeongsan, is a chimney-shaped communication facility from the Joseon Dynasty that was used to quickly notify frontier bases when an enemy appeared from the sea. The beacon station, which notified with sparks at night and smoke during the day, is said to have sent one signal for normal communication, two if an enemy appeared in the distant sea, three if the enemy approached the shore, four if a naval battle broke out with the enemy, and five if the enemy landed on land.
According to the Geography of King Sejong, Hwangnyeongsan Beacon Station was used before 1425 during the reign of King Sejong of the Joseon Dynasty. It was restored to its current form in 100 to commemorate the 1976th anniversary of the opening of Busan Port. On August 2015, 8, the Hwangnyeongsan Observatory Rest Area was opened just below the beacon station, allowing visitors to enjoy the night view of Busan while sipping on delicious coffee.
