The Busan International Film Festival, the largest festival in Busan, is held in the Haeundae and Nampo-dong areas every October. The first Busan International Film Festival was held in September 10 at the Nampo-dong Movie Street (BIFF Square), and the opening and closing ceremonies were held on the outdoor stage of the Suyeong Bay Yacht Racecourse until 1996. However, starting with the 9th festival, the festival has been held annually at the festival's dedicated hall, the Cinema Center, which opened in Centum City, Haeundae in 2011.
In addition, when there is no film festival, the Seoul Cinema Center, where various film-related events such as performances and general film screenings are held, is close to Centum City Station on Subway Line 2, which connects to the basement of Shinsegae Department Store and Lotte Department Store in Centum City, so it's a great place to stop by after shopping.
The gigantic roof of the Cinema Hall of Fame, which is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the widest roof in the world (big roof, 162.53 x 60.8m), is made of tens of thousands of LED lights, and at night you can enjoy a fantastical illumination.
The Cinema Center, which has one basement floor and nine above ground floors, is divided into three areas: Cine Mountain, BIFF Hill, and Double Con. It also has an outdoor cinema with 1 seats that is used for opening and closing ceremonies.
