A large public park located in the west of Busan

Busan Citizens Park, located in Seomyeon, the center of Busan, was converted from the grounds of the former US military base, Hayaria Unit, by the city of Busan on January 2010, 1, and officially opened on May 27, 2014.
The vast grounds, covering a total area of 52㎡, include a 8278m-tall tower fountain, the Busan Citizens Park History Museum, which tells the story of how the US Army's Hayaria Unit was forced to remain in the center of Busan for about 25 years from the Japanese colonial era until its site was returned to Busan City, and a replica of the barracks where the US soldiers lived at the time. There are also many facilities for the citizens of Busan, including theme spaces with various themes, an experiential learning center for children such as the Pororo Library, an outdoor performance hall capable of large-scale performances, and a cafe.
The park is so large that it takes at least two hours to walk around it, making it a great resting place for Busan residents.
