To improve convenience for tourists, Busan Port became the first port in the country to operate a 24-hour cruise terminal.
On the 24th, Busan City announced that it has begun operating a 24-hour cruise terminal to coincide with the arrival of the Regata, the first overnight cruise ship of the year. An overnight cruise is a cruise that stays at a port for more than one day.
Until now, due to the constraints of terminal operating hours at domestic ports, cruise passengers had to return to their ships by around 10 p.m. This has led to criticism that it has been difficult to organize nighttime tours or overnight itineraries. A city official said, "Major cruise ports in Asia, such as Singapore and Hong Kong, already have systems in place to support 24-hour terminal operations upon request from shipping companies, but domestic ports have clear operating hours, making it difficult for shipping companies to organize overnight itineraries."
Accordingly, the cruise tourism program will be expanded from the current one-day tour to an overnight tour. During the day, the cruise will operate popular sightseeing courses such as Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, Dongdaemun Nurimaru, Jagalchi Market, Beomeosa Temple, and Gyeongju, while at night, it will be designed to allow passengers to experience "Busan at Night" by linking the night view sightseeing content around Hwangnyeongsan Mountain. |
