Seomyeon, Busan, is located in the center of Busan Metropolitan City, where Busan Subway Line 1 and Line 2 intersect, and is the largest downtown area in Busan Metropolitan City, with commercial facilities, financial institutions, medical institutions, and educational institutions. There are two underground shopping streets centered around Seomyeon Station, one of which runs through Seomyeon Station and Bujeon Station.

The west side of Seomyeon, where Lotte Hotel Busan is located, is home to Seomyeon Road and other bustling areas such as Seomyeon 1-ga, Lotte Department Store, clubs, entertainment bars, hotels, and Seomyeon Market, which is home to the Daeji Gukbap Alley. Many medical facilities are also located here, making it a medical mecca.

In the commercial district on the east side, Seomyeon 2nd Street is the main downtown area and is known as a town for young people. In this area, Judith Taehwa Department Store, Jeonpo Cafe Street, pubs, izakayas, restaurants, etc. are increasing in number, and new buildings are also increasing. The National Railroad's Bujeon Station is located near Seomyeon, making it a convenient location for tourists to come directly to Seomyeon.
