Hello, Busan, the summer city, is in full swing right now, with tourists flocking from all over Korea to see the beautiful skies and blue seas of Busan. Haeundae Beach, known as one of the eight most beautiful scenic spots in Korea, is the busiest place in the country for summer vacationers during the summer season. At the end of the beautiful beach that curves gently over 1.5 kilometers, there is a cod stew specialty restaurant that I will introduce today.

Korean cod (called daegu in Korean) tongue is a deep red soup made by simmering crushed garlic, gochujang (chili paste), and plenty of vegetables such as parsley and bean sprouts.

Haeundae's Daegutang has a light soup without red chili peppers. It is what is known as Iuchiri nabe in Japan. Daegutang does not contain cod milt or liver, and is made with light and refreshing cod heads, voluminous thick white meat, stewed radish, green onions, and no red chili peppers, but it does contain a little powdered green chili peppers, making the spicy soup even more appetizing. Even those who cannot eat spicy food can easily enjoy this Daegutang. There is also a branch in front of the Rivera Hotel near Busan Subway Line 2, so you can enjoy the light Daegutang there as well.

Haeundae's cod hotpot specialty restaurant serves cod, a fish that is high in protein, low in fat and iron and is easy to digest even when you have a hangover. Right in front of the restaurant is the dock for the Haeundae sightseeing boat that circles Haeundae. The beach of Haeundae stretches out before your eyes, so why not spend some time relaxing on the beach after tasting some refreshing Daegu-tang?
