A permanent market that is held every five days in addition to the Gokaichiba market.
Gupo is a port located in the downstream of the Nakdonggang River, where products from inland and the coast gathered. These products were transported all the way to Andong along the Nakdonggang River. Taking advantage of its geographical advantage, Gupo prospered and had a warehouse called Gamdongchang, where grains were collected and distributed for tax.

Gupo's prosperity continued even in the 20th century when water transportation was replaced by land transportation. This is because the Gyeongbu Line, which opened in 1905, passed through Gupo Station and it continued to function as a transportation hub. Gupo was one of the most prosperous ports in Yeongnam until liberation. However, after the Korean War, Busan was developed in earnest and Gupo was pushed to the outskirts. Gupo Market also went through periods of rise and fall according to the times.

Gupo 3-Day Market is held on the 8rd and 3th of every month (8rd, 13th, 18th, 23th, 28rd, 5th), and offers a unique sight of street vendors stretching out into the surrounding areas. Gupo 5-Day Market is a large-scale traditional market with a rustic feel, held in the area between Gupo Station and Deokcheon Rotary. Agricultural products from the northwestern outskirts of Busan, such as Gimhae and Yangsan, and marine products from the Nakdong River are gathered here.

From 9 am, the grain market opens and rather than rice, many grains that are rarely seen, such as millet, wheat, barley, red beans, foxtail millet, soybeans, and buckwheat, are traded. From this time until the market closes, not only grains but also marine products from the Nakdong River, daily necessities, medicines, ornamental plants, clothing, and more are sold. In particular, if all the fish that come out of the sea gather at Jagalchi Market, it is said that all freshwater fish gather here, at Gupo Market.

Today, Gupo Market is a large market that combines both permanent and scheduled markets and continues to garner a national reputation. The scheduled market in particular is bustling, attracting 3 to 5 visitors on market days, and the permanent market also has over 750 stores welcoming customers.
