Yangdong Folk Village was established in the 15th and 16th centuries by the Wolseong Son and Yeogang Yi clans, with houses lined up on four ridges and valleys starting from Munjang Peak on Seolchangsan Mountain. The village's main family and tiled houses are located on high ground, while the thatched-roof houses are located on flat ground.
This folk village features unique Korean traditional houses spread across a mountain valley, and preserves the Confucian ideas and ancient customs of the Joseon Dynasty.
