Chongmundae

Hello. Located next to Gyochon Village in Gyeongju City, Sungnmundae, which means "the worship of learning," was the government office responsible for storing and managing royal books during the Silla Dynasty and educating the East Palace.

Gyeongju City and the Cultural Heritage Administration named the Wolseong excavation operation facility Sungmundae in order to widely publicize and pass on the glorious thousand-year history of Silla. This video exhibition hall was opened as the Silla Royal Palace Excavation Artifacts Exhibition Hall, where artifacts unearthed during the excavation of the Silla Royal Palace and research results can be displayed and the public can see the results of research.

Wolseong Digging Video Exhibition Hall

Wolseong is a castle located in the center of the Gyeongju Basin, and beneath the northern wall is a moat, a defensive facility that stores and drains water, with mud accumulating inside. An investigation of the accumulated mud from 2015 to 2021 uncovered a large number of animal bones, plant seeds, and wooden artifacts from the Silla period, which were then analyzed and recreated as an immersive video that allows viewers to experience the site for themselves.
