Cheomseongdae is known as the oldest astronomical observatory in the East. It is located between the Silla Palace Wolseong and the Silla Royal Tombs and was built during the reign of Queen Seondeok (635-647).

Cheomseongdae is a circular, urn-shaped stone tower that is about 9 meters tall. 27 stones are stacked in a curved line, with a square stone covering the top like a lid. There is also a square window opening about 1 meter in height in the south center, and there are also traces of a ladder. Cheomseongdae is praised for its elegant curves and the exquisite harmony of square and circular shapes that are unique to Silla, and is one of the most representative buildings of Silla.

At the entrance to Cheomseongdae, there is a multilingual video booth that provides easy-to-understand information about the structure of Cheomseongdae.
