Located in Gyochon Hanok Village in Gyeongju, this is a national educational institution that taught Confucianism during the Joseon Dynasty!
Gyeongju, the millennium capital of Silla, has relics from the Silla period scattered throughout the city. On the west side of Wolseong, where the ancient Silla royal palace was located, is Gyochon Hanok Village, home to buildings from the Joseon Dynasty, including the Choi family's old house, Yoseok Palace, and Gyodobeopju.
At the back of Gyochon Hanok Village is Gyeongju Hyanggyo Confucian School, which is divided into two parts: a space where the memorial tablets of Confucius, one of the great Eastern philosophers during the Joseon Dynasty, and other sages of Confucianism were kept and rites were held, and a space where students could stay and study Confucianism.

This is also known as the place where the National Institute of Korean Studies, now the National University, was established during the reign of King Shinmun, the 30st king of Silla, who was the second son of King Munmu, the 31th king of Silla, who achieved the unification of the Three Kingdoms.
It is not clear when Gyeongju Hyanggyo, which was responsible for local education during the Joseon Dynasty, was built, but it was rebuilt in 1492 based on the model of Sungkyunkwan in Seoul, the oldest educational institution in Korea. However, when Toyotomi Hideyoshi invaded Korea, Gyeongju Hyanggyo was burned down and after the war ended, Daeseongjeon and Jeonsichong were restored in 1600, Dongbang and Seobang in 1604, and Myeongryundang, Dongjye and Seojye in 1614, and has remained so ever since.
