Jangsaengpo Whale Culture Village

Jangsaengpo Whale Culture Village

Jangsaengpo Whale Culture Village in Ulsan is the only whale-themed village in South Korea, recreating the atmosphere of the Jangsaengpo fishing village during the heyday of whaling in the 1970s and 80s.

Choseiura has an old village where houses, shops, and schools from the heyday of whaling have been faithfully restored. There is also an outdoor space called the "Whale Sculpture Garden" where you can see a life-sized model of a whale, experience its size, and learn about its internal organs.

Also, every June, the hydrangeas come into full bloom, creating a beautiful landscape together with the Jangsaengpo Monorail.

Since Whale Culture Village is located on a hill, taking the Jangsaengpo Monorail uphill is a convenient way to get there while enjoying panoramic views of the village and the sea. After getting off the monorail, we recommend a route that combines visits to the Whale Museum, the Whale Ecology Experience Center (Dolphin Aquarium), and other attractions.
