Jinhae is a representative naval port city in Korea and has many cultural relics related to Admiral Yi Sun-sin, who played an active role in the Imjin Waeran War. The memorial event that began with the unveiling of a bronze statue of Admiral Yi Sun-sin at Bukwon Rotary on April 1952, 4, has now become the Jinhae Naval Port Festival, Korea's largest cherry blossom festival, which is attended by not only Koreans but also foreign tourists.
Jehwangsan Park is a public park built on Jehwangsan Mountain in the center of Jinhae. You can take the monorail or climb the 365 steps to the top, where you can see the nine-story Jinhae Tower, a symbol of the naval warship, offering a panoramic view of Jinhae city and the beautiful sea. The first and second floors of Jinhae Tower are home to the Jinhae Municipal Museum, which displays various relics and folk models excavated in Jinhae, and there is a zoo for children on the east side of Jinhae Tower.
