KoreaDaegu Metropolitan City

Daegu City, a transportation hub located in the south of North Gyeongsang Province, is the third largest city in South Korea after Seoul, Busan, and Incheon, and if you consider Incheon to be a commuter town for Seoul, it is essentially the third largest city in South Korea. In addition to Daegu Airport, the KTX also stops in Daegu City, so it is convenient to access from Seoul and Busan.

There is a market in the city called Yaknyeong Market, which sells ingredients for herbal medicines. It is a market with a history dating back to the Joseon Dynasty and is the largest in Korea. Geographically, it is a basin surrounded by mountains, so the climate is harsh in summer and winter. However, thanks to that climate, it is famous as a famous apple producing area.

One of the mountains surrounding Daegu is Palgongsan Mountain, located in the north, which has long been known as a sacred mountain and is a famous mountain in history. Currently, it is a popular place for citizens to relax and is also being developed as a Korean town. Gyeongju is about 50km east of Daegu, Andong is to the north, and Haeinsa Temple, a World Heritage Site, is located on Gayasan Mountain to the west. It is a good idea to use Daegu, which has good transportation access, as a base to explore the surrounding areas.
