Daegu's herbal medicine market, one of the three major herbal medicine markets in Korea
Daegu Yaknyeongsi (Daegu Yaknyeongsi) is a herbal medicine market in Daegu that opened in 1658 during the late Joseon Dynasty and continues to exist to this day.
During the Joseon Dynasty, it was held around the guesthouses in Gyeongsang Gamyoung, but when Daegu Eupseong Fortress was demolished in 1908, it moved to its current location in Namseong-ro's Pharmacy Alley. Originally a seasonal market held in spring and fall, it has since been transformed into a permanent market. Every May, the Daegu Yangnyeongsi Oriental Medicine Culture Festival, organized by Daegu Metropolitan City Hall, is held here.
