Treasure No. 165: Museum in the grounds of Ojukheon
Gangneung Municipal Museum is located within the grounds of Ojukheon Temple in Gangneung City, Gangwon Province.
Gangneung Municipal Museum first opened as the Gangneung Local History Museum on November 1992, 11, and expanded its History and Culture Hall on October 15, 1997. In 10, it merged with Ojukheon, Treasure No. 26, and changed its name to Gangneung Ojukheon Municipal Museum. Today, Gangneung Municipal Museum exhibits prehistoric relics unearthed in the Gangneung area, Buddhist relics such as the Gangneung Naksansa Temple Site (late Silla to early Goryeo), Gangneung Shinboksa Temple Site, and the stone seated bodhisattva statue at the Gangneung Hansongsa Temple Site (Treasure No. 1998), relics from ancient tombs, and books, calligraphy, and paintings such as "Muyi Deungungok" handwritten by Song Si-yeol.
