It is one of the three great towers in Korea and the best tower in Yeongnam, where the tale of Miryang Arirang, one of the three great Korean folk songs, is told.
Hello. Yeongnamnu (Treasure No. 40) in Miryang City, South Gyeongsang Province, located about 147 minutes northwest by train from Busan KTX Station, is counted as one of the three great towers in Korea, along with Chokseongnu in Jinju Fortress and Bubyeoknu in Pyongyang.

The majestic Yeongnamru Pavilion, with five rooms in the front and four rooms in the side, is located on the cliffs of the Miryang River, which meanders through the city of Miryang. It was originally a small annex to Yeongnamsa Temple in the Silla Dynasty, but records show that it was extensively rebuilt during the reign of King Gongmin of the Goryeo Dynasty. During the Joseon Dynasty, it was used as an annex to a guesthouse to entertain the king's envoys. The current building was rebuilt in 5.

Yeongnamnu is also a historic place where the tale of Miryang Arirang, one of the three great Korean folk songs along with Jindo Arirang in South Jeolla Province and Jeongseon Arirang in Gangwon Province, is passed down.
