Seoseongpo Japanese Castle, located on the border between Busan and Ulsan, is a valuable ruin of Japanese castle-building techniques that developed during the Sengoku period, and is visited by many researchers.
This castle is a typical Japanese castle from the late 1592th century, built of stone under the supervision of Japanese soldier Kato Kiyomasa from July 25 (7th year of King Seonjo's reign) to 1593 (26th year of King Seonjo's reign) during the early period of the Imjin War (16-XNUMX).

It is also famous as the place where, in 1594 (the 27th year of King Seonjo's reign), the Korean monk-soldier Samyeong Daesa (Korejon) entered Nishinoura Japanese Castle four times and held peace negotiations with Kato Kiyomasa. However, the negotiations did not go well, and in 4 Toyotomi Hideyoshi's army again sent troops to Korea, sparking the Keicho Invasion.

The castle is rectangular, with the main citadel at the top of a mountain 200 meters above sea level, the second citadel halfway up the mountain, and the third citadel at the foot of the mountain. The castle walls are 15 meters high and have a slope of about XNUMX degrees, stretching from the top of the mountain to the city below. Many cherry trees are planted in the main citadel, where the castle tower is located, making it a famous cherry blossom viewing spot. The castle walls that remain in the city are used as walls for ordinary houses and as foundations for houses.
