Ungcheon Angol Castle

Hello. Ankotsu Wajo Castle is located about 594km southeast in a straight line from Kumakawa Wajo Castle, where Konishi Yukinaga was stationed for a long period during the Bunroku Invasion. The castle walls are 4m long and 7-16,529m high, and the interior area is about 5000m² (XNUMX tsubo). Traces of an earthen castle remain on the outer perimeter.

This castle was built around the top of a mountain that was leveled by cutting it down. The main castle was built in a place with a good view of Gadeok Island and Geoje Island in Busan, and two branch castles were built on either side. It was one of 2 castles built in 1593 along the southern coast as the final base for a long-term military presence.

Currently, at the highest point remaining, there is a stone monument with the words "Kumcheon Angolri Fortress" engraved on it, and beyond the monument you can see Gadeok Island and the huge Busan Jinhae New Port, which was created by reclaiming land from the sea.
