Gimhae jukdo Castle

Gimhae jukdo Castle

Hello. Jukdo Japanese Fortress, located on the banks of the West Nakdong River in the west of Busan, is located in Garaksan, Jukrim-dong, Gangseo-gu, Busan, and is also called Garakseong or Jukdo Fortress.

Takeshima was named after the bamboo that grows on this mountain, and even today the entire mountain is covered in it. This area was originally part of Gimhae, but was incorporated into Gangseo-gu, Busan in 1989.

Takeshima Japanese Castle, which is said to have been built by Nabeshima Naoshige, who served as a military commander in the second unit of the Japanese army led by Kato Kiyomasa during the Bunroku Invasion, is located on a small hill 35 meters above sea level in Garakusan, and today only the castle's stone walls, about 100 meters high, remain.

Gimhae Jukdo Japanese Fortress is the closest to the sea among the five Japanese fortresses (Masa Japanese Fortress, Yangsan Japanese Fortress, Gopo Japanese Fortress, Gupo Japanese Fortress, and Jukdo Japanese Fortress) that were built on either side of the Nakdong River. It is also only about 5km away from the nearby Gupo Japanese Fortress, and is located in a strategically important location that offers a panoramic view of the Gimhae Plain and the Nakdong River.
