In Gyeongsangnam-do, there are many remains of General Yi Sun-sin, who led the Korean navy during Toyotomi Hideyoshi's invasion of Korea. About 15km south of Jinju City, where Kim Si-min's Battle of Jinju took place, one of the three great victories of the Imjin Waeran invasion (1597), is Sacheon Seonjin-ri Japanese Fortress, which was built by Japanese troops to capture the western areas of Gyeongsangnam-do and Jeolla-do during the Keicho Invasion (the second invasion of Korea in XNUMX).

Connected to land to the east and surrounded by sea on three sides, Sacheon Seonjin-ri Japanese Fortress is also famous for the Battle of Sacheon in October 1598, when 10 troops led by Shimazu Yoshihiro and Shimazu Tadatsune fought and repelled an allied army of tens of thousands of Chosun and Ming. The grave of the Sacheon Chosun soldiers who died in this battle is located nearby.

If you go up the stairs in the large parking lot, you will find Sacheon Seonjin-ri Japanese Fortress, covered with cherry trees.
If you go straight ahead with the Sacheon Jomyung Army Tomb, designated as Provincial Monument No. 80, on your left, you will come to a large parking lot, and if you climb the gentle stairs in front of you, you will come to Seonjin-ri Japanese Fortress (Seonjin Park).
