Yangsan Castle

Yangsan Castle

Yangsan Japanese Fortress is located about 10 minutes by car from Yangsan Tower in Yangsan City.

If you go straight up through this village, you will find Liangshan Japanese Fortress.

In the downstream of the Nakdong River, which flows through the west of Busan, there remain several Japanese castles that were built during Toyotomi Hideyoshi's "Bunroku-Keicho Invasion." Among them is Mulgeumjeongsan-ri Japanese Fortress (Yangsan Waeso), which was started to be built by Japanese troops in 1597 during peace negotiations with Ming where the main stream of the Nakdong River meets a tributary of the Yangsan River, and was completed the following year by Mori Terumoto and Kobayakawa Hideaki. This castle was used only for a short period of time until Toyotomi Hideyoshi ordered the transfer to Gadeok Japanese Fortress in Busan on March 1598, 3.

Yangsan Japanese Fortress is about a 10-minute drive southwest from Yangsan Tower to the village of Jeongsan Village, a long and narrow mountain fortress built on the top of a mountain behind the village, which has three peaks 130 meters above sea level, and is located in a place where you can see the Nakdong River and the Gimhae Plain. It is said that the outer length of the fortress was 3 kilometers, but most of the stone walls of the main and second enclosures have collapsed, and only a small part remains.
