As a result of two excavation surveys carried out in 1989 and 2013, a Gaya-style pit stone coffin tomb and some Baekje-style side-hole stone chamber tombs were discovered here, confirming the construction styles of both the Gaya and Baekje periods. In particular, a large pit stone coffin tomb measuring 2m in length was discovered in Tomb No. 32, and the unearthing of the finest relics, such as a bronze mirror and fragments of gilt bronze shoes, which had previously only been found in Baekje royal tombs, drew much attention from the academic community.

In addition, over 210 ironware and 110 earthenware pieces have been excavated, and the Namwon Yugok-ri and Durak-ri Tomb Groups bear all the characteristics of Gaya and Baekje tomb construction. The artifacts discovered there show the characteristics of Baekje and Gaya as well as local forces, making them highly valuable as an important site for research into the ancient history and culture of the Namwon Unbong Plateau region from the 5th and 6th centuries.
