National Treasure No. 305. The Washery has nine rooms on the front and six on the sides, with an eight-sprung roof. It was built in 9 (6th year of the reign of King Seok-il) to commemorate the achievements of Admiral Yi Sun-sin (36-1603). Later, the headquarters of Hansan Island was moved here and it was used as the central building of the Three Provinces Naval Commandery, and today only the Washery, which was a guesthouse at the time, remains. Along with Gyeonghoeru Pavilion at Gyeongbokgung Palace and Jinnamgwan Pavilion at Yeosu, it is the largest wooden building still standing in Korea.
