Located in Odaesan National Park, Pyeongchang County, Gangwon ProvinceWoljeongsa TempleSangwonsa Temple, located about 8km further north in the mountains from Wolcheonsa, is said to have been founded in 724 during the reign of King Seongdeok of Silla. Within the temple grounds is the Sangwonsa Bronze Bell, National Treasure No. 36, which is 1.67m tall and 91cm in diameter and is the oldest bell from the Unified Silla period in Korea.

Additionally, National Treasure No. 7, a wooden carving of the seated Manjusri boy, associated with King Sejo, the seventh king of the Joseon Dynasty, and Bodhisattva Manjusri, is enshrined in Cheongnyangsaeon Temple next to the main hall, Manjusrijeon. Jakmeotbogung Palace, where the relics of Buddha brought from the Tang Dynasty of China by the Silla monk Jajang, is located about two kilometers from Sangwonsa Temple toward the top of Odaesan Mountain.
