A group of ancient tombs from the early Baekje and Silla periods located in the Han River basin in Seoul.
Hello, Seoul. About 1.8km southeast of Jamsil, where Lotte World and Lotte World Tower are located, there is a group of ancient tombs from the Three Kingdoms period. The Seoul Bangi-dong Tombs, which are spread across the hills around Bangi-dong in Songpa-gu, where it is believed to have been the site of the early capital of Baekje, are home to eight ancient tombs that have been beautifully maintained for the public to explore.

When the Bangi-dong Tomb was first discovered in September 1917, it was known to be from the early Baekje period because the Pungnap Toseong and Mongchontoseong Fortresses from the early Baekje period were nearby. However, when three of the eight tombs were excavated for the first time in 9, Silla pottery and other artifacts were unearthed, which led some to suggest that they may date from the Silla period.

After passing through the main gate of the Bangi-dong Baekje Tombs and climbing the stairs, the tombs come into view one after the other on the gently sloping hill. Tombs 1, 2, 3 and 6 are located on the northwest hill, while tombs 4, 5, 7 and 8 are located to the southeast. Of the eight confirmed tombs at the Bangi-dong Baekje Tombs, four have been investigated or excavated - tombs 8, 4, 1 and 4. As a result, it was determined that tombs 5, 6 and 1 are generally cave-in stone chamber tombs built after the 4th century, while tomb 6, which dates slightly earlier, is a stone coffin tomb made from thinly split natural stone.
Bangi-dong Baekje Tombs in the Han River basin in Seoul! There is some doubt as to whether these tombs are from Baekje or Silla, but they give us an insight into the international relations between the two countries surrounding the Han River basin.
