Just down the road from Busosanseong Fortress (106m) on the north side of Buyeo city, into the city itself, is the Buyeo Gwanbuk-ri ruins, presumed to be the remains of a royal palace from the Sabi period of Baekje (Sabi, now Buyeo, 538-660). As a result of excavations over many years, the remains of a large building measuring 7 x 4 bays, 35m east-west and 18m north-south, roof tiles bearing the name of the capital, roads running north-south and east-west, drainage channels, ponds, underground storehouses, stone wall facilities and other remains have been discovered, which are said to be valuable research material for understanding the royal palace of Baekje.

In 2015, it was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the Baekje Historic Areas.
