Eonyang Amethyst Cave Nara

Yangsan, one of the three most famous temples in KoreaTongdosa TempleLocated halfway between Seongnamsa Temple, a nunnery in Eonyang, Chasjeongdonggeulnara (Land of Amethyst Caves) is an amethyst mine that was once actively mined and developed into an amusement park. It is an artificial cavern measuring approximately 1 km in length and 2 m2.5 in size, with the first and second floors connected like an ant's nest.

The average temperature inside the cave ranges from 12°C to 14°C throughout the year, so it can feel chilly in the summer, but warm in the winter. It's a cave-themed tourist attraction. The Natural Amethyst Hall, the Aboriginal Life Hall, and the Egyptian Hall are located inside the cave, and world-famous performing arts troupes hold performances six times a day. You can also explore the mysterious Crystal Cave by boat. The boat dock is located a short walk to the left in front of the Amethyst Cave ticket booth.
