Yangsan City, located about 30 minutes by car north from downtown Busan, is a sanitary city of Busan that is developing transportation, education, culture, and other areas centered around the Mulgeum New City, which is currently under construction.
Many workers commute from Busan, and the city's population is growing every year, with about 2012 people as of 26. It is home to facilities such as Tongdosa Temple, the Korean Sambeop Temple, Yangsan Industrial Complex, and the Yangsan Campus of Busan National University, and is connected to Busan Urban Railroad (subway) Line 2 and the Yangsan Line.
