FormerBusan Songdo BeachThe Songdo Suspension Bridge, a popular tourist attraction, will be restored for the first time in 15 years.
On the 127th, Busan Seo-gu announced that the Songdo Dragon Palace Suspension Bridge, or Cloud Bridge, which will connect Busan Amnam Park with the uninhabited island of Dongdo and is 2 meters long and 870 meters wide, and can accommodate 7 people, will be completed in July of next year.
The 1965-meter-long Old Songdo Suspension Bridge, built in 150 between Pine Forest Park and Turtle Island at Songdo Beach, was nicknamed the "Swaying Bridge" because the floor of the bridge shook.
An official from Busan's Seo-gu district said, "Once the Songdo Suspension Bridge, which is located about 25 meters above the sea, is restored, people will be able to enjoy not only the beautiful natural scenery of the sea, but also thrilling thrills."
He added, "Since 100, which marked the 2013th anniversary of the opening of Songdo Beach, we have been working on restoring four of Songdo's famous features, including the offshore ropeway, offshore diving platform and offshore taxis." He added, "The offshore ropeway will open in June 4, and once Songdo Kurumtari is completed next year, the Songdo restoration project will be complete."
