Located in Haeundae-gu, Busan, Centum City is an area on the banks of the Suyeong River where the former Suyeong Airport was located, and is undergoing modernization with the aim of becoming a cutting-edge city.
The city continues to develop with Busan's film, performance, entertainment, shopping, and convention culture at its core, including the Shinsegae Department Store Centum City Branch, which opened in 2009 and is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records; the Busan Cinema Center, a dedicated hall for the Busan International Film Festival held every autumn; and the Busan Convention Center, where a variety of events such as international conferences are held.
