Ganzanji Temple
A Unified Silla temple said to have been built for deceased parents. The main tourist attractions in Gyeongju, the capital of Silla, are the World Heritage sites Bulguksa Temple and Seokguram Grotto, both located at the foot and middle of Mt. Tohamsan. However, there are two other temples on the southwest foot of Mt. Tohamsan that are said to have been built earlier than the stone Buddhas of Seokguram Grotto. -

Hanging tomb
The eight stone statues lined up as if guarding the royal tomb and the twelve zodiac gods surrounding it are said to be the most excellently carved among the surviving Silla royal tombs. The Gwerun tomb is believed to be the tomb of King Wonseong, the 38th king of Silla. The name Gwerun means "hanging the tomb." -

Gyeongju Gyochon Village
Located in the center of Gyeongju, Gyochon Village is a historical site that includes the National Academy of Korean Studies, which was built in 682, and offers traditional cultural experiences and attractions. Within the village, there are the old house of the Choi clan in Gyo-dong, Gyeongju, and an old house selling Gyo-dong Beopju. There is also the Gyochon Costume Room where you can rent traditional Korean and Silla hanbok. Nearby are Woljeonggyo Bridge, Gyerim, Daereungwon, Cheomseongdae, and Wolseong. -

Choi family's old house in Gyo-dong, Gyeongju
The Gyeongju Gyodong Choi Family Old House is located next to Gyeongju Hyanggyo Confucian School and is the former home of the head Choi family, built around 1700. It is known as the home of a wealthy man during the Joseon Dynasty. You can see traditional Joseon Dynasty houses such as the Haengrangchae (room at the side of the gate), the master's Sarangchae (living room/guest room), the Anchae (main house), the shrine, and the barn. The barn is the most eye-catching part of the house and was used as a place to distribute rice to neighbors during famines. -
