Byeongsanseowon Seowon, located about 6km east of Hahoe Village in Andong, North Gyeongsang Province, was established in 1572 by Confucian scholar Ryu Seong-ryong (1542-1607) as a Confucian school. It was originally the Pungak Seodang Seodang, an educational institution for the Pungsan Ryu family in Pungsan-eup, and was relocated to its current location in 1613.
