STEP
Kyungpo

Located about 30 minutes by car from downtown Pohang on the east coast, Guryongpo is a town that prospered 100 years ago thanks to fishermen who immigrated from Kagawa Prefecture in Japan. Currently, there are many steamed crab specialty shops selling snow crabs, and Guryongpo Market has many shops selling gwamegi, a winter delicacy and Pohang specialty. Gwamegi is a dried fish made by freezing and thawing blue fish such as saury and herring in the cold winter and then fermenting and drying them.

STEP
Kyungpo Japanese House Street

100 years ago, Guryongpo, Pohang, prospered thanks to fishermen who immigrated from Kagawa Prefecture, Japan. Today, about 50 Japanese houses remain, and in 2012, with the opening of the Guryongpo Modern History Museum, the Japanese House Street where the Japanese houses are gathered was beautifully renovated.

STEP
Ulsan Japanese Castle

Located in Ulsan, a representative industrial complex in South Korea, this castle was built by Kato Kiyomasa in the 16th century! This Japanese castle was the site of fierce battles between Kato Kiyomasa and the allied forces of Ming and Korea in 1597 and 1598.

STEP
Seosaengpo Castle

Nishinoura Japanese Fortress is located on the border between Busan and Ulsan and is considered a valuable relic in Japanese castle studies. This castle is a typical Japanese-style castle built by the Japanese military officer Kato Kiyomasa between 1592 and 1593. The monk Shimyung Daishi also negotiated a settlement with Kato Kiyomasa at Nishinoura Fortress, but the results were unsuccessful, and the Keicho Waran, an invasion of Korea by Toyotomi Hideyoshi's army, broke out. Nishinoura Japanese Fortress consists of the main castle at the top of a mountain 200 meters above sea level, the second castle halfway up, and the third castle at the foot of the mountain. The castle walls are 2 meters high and have a slope of about 3 degrees. Many cherry trees are planted in the main castle, making it a famous cherry blossom viewing spot.

STEP
Gupo Castle

Gupo Wasei is located near Gusan Market in Busan and was built in 1593 by Kobayakawa Takakage. Gupo Wasei is located in a strategically advantageous location across the Nakdong River from Gimhae City's Jukdo Wasei, and played an important role as a key point for inland operations. The Wasei walls are relatively well preserved, and offer a panoramic view of the Nakdong River and Gimhae City.

The previous tour of Gijang Jukseong-ri Japanese castle was changed to a tour of Gupo Japanese castle due to private property issues.
